Why You Should Make a Virtual Tour for Your Business

Why You Should Make a Virtual Tour for Your Business

Why You Should Make a Virtual Tour for Your Business

If this digital era taught us anything, it’s that first impressions are everything. This is why video content, going live on social media or a virtual tour that resides on your business website is one of the most powerful marketing tools these days.

Over the years, we’ve discussed how important video marketing is and how it can help your brand grow. Today, we want to take it a step further and talk about the benefits of a virtual tour and why you should consider investing in one for your business.

What is a Virtual Tour?

A complete 360° tour consists of several panoramic images which are edited and seamlessly connected into a single piece. While Google Street View can introduce you to the place’s exterior, a 360° virtual tour allows you to get inside.

Benefits of Making a Virtual Tour for Your Business

  1. Stand Out Among Competition – With the abundance of digital options to market your business these days, being able to stand out is what will get you noticed. Since not all businesses include a virtual tour as means to introduce potential customers to their brand yet, this is your chance to gain a competitive edge in your industry.
  2. First Impressions Matter – By adding a virtual tour on your Google My Business page, website or social media, you give your audience a visual idea of how your business looks and feels like before they even visit the actual location.
  3. Boost Your Local SEO – Optimized visual content ranks really well when it comes to search engine optimization. When you add a virtual tour to your website and local directories, you have a higher chance to stand out and get noticed online!
  4. Save Time and Money – Adding a virtual tour to your online presence is one of the most efficient and engaging ways you can market your business. It’s not only inexpensive but it’s also a great feature that will serve you for years to come!

The best thing about a virtual tour is that nearly any business can benefit from it. Whether you want to educate, engage, bring in more customers or simply build trust, this is a sure way to do so!

3 Steps to Creating a Successful Content Plan

3 Steps to Creating a Successful Content Plan

3 Steps to Creating a Successful Content Plan

Content marketing is an essential part of any marketing efforts. Focused on producing and distributing relevant, useful information to potential customers, your content plan should be designed to let your brand shine. It’s also how you’re going to build credibility and authority in your industry.

If you want to create uniquely targeted content, each piece of information that you share on your website, social media or in your email campaigns should align with your brand and be meant to attract, engage and entertain your potential customers. Here’s how to get your content plan together:

3 Steps to Creating a Successful Content Plan

  1. Set Marketing Goals – To prioritize your content creation efforts, you need to know your marketing goals to begin with. The bottom line is, each piece of content you share should be relevant to your brand’s mission and offerings.
  2. Map Available Content – It’s not all about creating new content each and every time you want to promote your business. Repurposing, updating and enhancing your old, existing content is just as good as sharing a new piece of information. One example of repurposing older content can be turning your old blog posts into video blogs. This way, you give new life to older content that can be later shared on your website and social media channels.
  3. Identify the Buyer’s Journey – Always keep in mind that the content you share is meant to warm up potential customers to your brand and generate new leads. Taking new prospects from the awareness to decision stage should be your goal when creating content.

The bottom line is, your content plan should align with your inbound marketing goals. Creating content without strategy and planning will only result in a wasted time and no measurable results.

5 Steps to Successful Content Marketing Strategy

5 Steps to Successful Content Marketing Strategy

5 Steps to Successful Content Marketing Strategy

Content marketing gives small businesses a chance to become publishers of valuable information and allows them a better success rate when competing with larger competitors.  While any business can publish and curate content, many brands have a hard time developing the mindset to create a consistent flow of new, interesting information.

Content Marketing Mix

According to the experts, a best-in-class content marketing mix should consist of:

  • 65% original content (created by your business)
  • 25% curated content
  • 10% syndicated content

Sharing a marketing mix of different sources of high value content can help with leveraging your resources more efficiently, while better engaging your target audience.

Want to know more? Here’s 5 tips for creating a successful content marketing strategy.

5 Tips for Successful Content Marketing Strategy

1. Identify Your Ideal Customers – This is a key in order to create an effective roadmap for your content marketing strategy. Where do your customers hang out in real life and online? What forums and websites do they visit? What challenges do they face and what kind of content can you create that will help them overcome these challenges? Buyers are already overwhelmed by the amount of content that businesses generate, so it is imperative to focus on quality instead of quantity.

2. Repurpose Content – Don’t waste your marketing budgets on recreating content that already exists. Convert existing content into quality one that is well-thought-out in order to be well-received, hence leading to more conversions. There are undoubtedly presentations, proposals, brochures and action plans that can be adapted for content marketing purposes.

Content Marketing

3. Perform Content Audit – Replace or remove outdated content from your website, brochures, presentations and action plans. Few businesses visit their own website on a regular basis and often fail to identify outdated information. A content audit will show you where you need to remove and replace old legacy content.

4. Share Quality Content – If you’re working with content that’s more than five years old, you might find that it contains good information but the tone, style and focus don’t hit the mark anymore. Improving and tweaking existing content can stretch your marketing budget and make your content more effective.

5. Use Content in New and Creative Ways – Transform case studies into downloadable infographics, turn internal company news into blog posts or short form video content, and post photos from your conferences and work functions to Pinterest and Facebook. Make your content strategy as far-reaching and effective as possible using innovative ways to turn it into multimedia, news items or any type of content that your target audience would want to consume.

As you can see, curating content that is meaningful in an organized, valuable way can be a valuable part of any successful content marketing strategy. But what if most small businesses can’t spend too much time on creating quality content?  This is where you can outsource help!

8 Holiday Marketing Strategies To Try This Season

holiday marketing tips

With Thanksgiving only about a month away, now is the time to get your holiday marketing strategies in place. Don’t know where to start? Think of ways to connect with your customers emotionally and tap into the spirit of giving back.

If your goal is to increase conversion this busy holiday shopping season, we got you covered. Here are 8 holiday marketing strategies that will maximize your advertising efforts.

8 holiday marketing strategies:

  1.  Offer Special Deals – Reward your best customers for their loyalty throughout the year by giving exclusive discounts or personal gift based on their purchase history.
  2. Create Holiday Landing Pages – Create holiday landing pages that you can send customers to from your social media and emails campaigns. Be sure to have several different designs and do some split testing to determine the highest converting pages.
  3. Start a Social Media Campaign – Use holiday specific images, hashtags and special offers to attract customers willing to spend. This is the time when they are starting to search for deals! Encouraging social media interaction will also get people in the holiday spirit of shopping.
  4. Focus on an Email Campaign – Use email more often to get customers excited about upcoming deals. Make sure to triple your marketing efforts on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Offer a contest, game or countdown to get more engagement. Don’t forget to add a popup subscribe form to your website and welcome new email subscribers with a discount code as well.
  5. Focus on High Sales Days – Take advantage of the highest selling days of the season. Offer special promotions for Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.
  6. Give Back to the Community – Show support to the community by sponsoring a food drive or collecting clothing and toys for needy families. Many of your customers are looking for ways to make the season more meaningful by sharing with those less fortunate.
  7. Send out Holiday Cards – Let your customers know how much you appreciate their business by sending out a holiday card with a personalized special offer just for them. For example, if Customer A repeatedly purchases a certain product or service, provide them with a coupon for that particular item. Continue to send out cards that may invite them to a special event, sale, discounts or free gift promotion.
  8. Create a Holiday Video – Get your team together for a fun and inviting holiday video. There’s nothing more personal than sending good wishes to your customers and showing your fun personality at the same time!

How to Run a Successful Facebook Contest

How to Run a Successful Facebook Contest Campaign

How to Run a Successful Facebook Contest

Being the most popular social media platform out there, Facebook is a great marketing tool these days for any business out there who’s looking to either convert or build awareness around the brand.

If your ultimate goal is to grow your business through new clients and sales, it’s time to consider running a Facebook contest. Here’s everything you need to know about setting up and running one:

Determine Your Goal

  • Lead Generation – If your goal is to collect more email addresses for your newsletter or email promotion blast, a Facebook contest is a great tool for that.
  • Getting new customers – Offer a new discount or promotion to those who sign up for your contest.
  • Growing your account – Ask your entrants to like your business Facebook page when participating in the giveaway.
  • Promoting an exclusive offer or a sale – Offer a product or service that’s already on sale as a giveaway prize to get people interested in what your business has to offer.

Choose a Giveaway Prize:

Offer a relevant prize to all your potential customers, in other words – entice them to enter your Facebook contest. The goal is to give away something that people will be willing to take action for. Furthermore, your prize should be relevant to your target audience, so make sure to allocate an appropriate amount towards a prize (product or free service).

Select an Entry method:

Don’t ask for too much from your participants, so they don’t get discouraged or confused. Be clear and direct about how to enter your giveaway. We recommend sharing up to 3 rules of entry:

    • Like a business’s Facebook page
    • Comment
    • Tag a friend
    • Fill out a form on a landing page – great option for collecting emails
    • Offer an additional entry for those who share your post on their page

Include These Giveaway Post Must Haves:

  • Design an appealing post – Decide what’s the best way to grab people’s attention keeping your target audience in mind. Next, make sure that you include important information (prize, deadline, your logo, etc.) in the image as well as the giveaway caption. Try to be as specific yet concise as possible.
  • Include what’s the giveaway prize
  • Share the rules for entry
  • Determine who can participate and what are the entry deadlines
  • Include how and when you’ll select a winner

Check Facebook Contest Rules to make sure that your promotion doesn’t violate any platform rules, such as ‘Acknowledgement that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.’

Promote Your Facebook Contest:

  • Pin the Post – Make sure your giveaway post is pinned to the top of your page for the duration of the contest and when you announce the winner.
  • Facebook Ad and Boosting – Put some money into running an ad or boosting your giveaway post on Facebook to reach more people and to target the right audience.
  • Social Media – If your business is active on other social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat), let your followers know about your Facebook contest as well. There’s a good chance they will be willing to enter on Facebook if they’re already active users on those platforms.
  • Blog – Write a blog post detailing the contest and the prize or include a blurb about the opportunity at the end of an article you’re currently promoting.
  • Custom Giveaway Hashtag – If you’re promoting your Facebook contest on Twitter or Instagram, create a custom hashtag to grab more attention and to monitor the giveaway entries.
  • Email blast – Send out an email blast to your current subscribers to give them a chance to participate. After all, they are your most loyal followers and they will most likely be more inclined to spread the word about your giveaway.

Once you select a winner, don’t forget to announce it to the public and thank everyone else for participating!

Last but not least, make sure you measure your results so you can run more successful giveaways in the future.

How to Prepare Your Business for GDPR

How to Prepare Your Business for GDPR

How to Prepare Your Business for GDPR

In case you haven’t heard, May 25th is the official date by which all businesses need to be ready to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). What is GDPR? It’s a regulation approved by the EU Parliament in April 2016, which applies to any company anywhere in the world that stores or processes data of people who live in the European Union. If your business is not in compliance with GDPR by May 25th 2018, you might face hefty fines – up to $24million (20m Euros) or 4% of annual global turnover, whichever is higher. / Read more about it here.

Why GDPR?

This legislation intends to protect the data privacy for EU citizens and create consistent data privacy laws across Europe. If you’re already following the rules of the Data Protection Act (DPA), then you’re on the right path. In today’s post, we’re going to discuss How to Prepare Your Business for GDPR.

GDPR checklist

Data Retention

Speaking of data collection, it’s also worth mentioning the Google Analytics Data Retention controls. This feature gives you the ability to set the amount of time before user-level and event-level data stored by Google Analytics is automatically deleted from Analytics’ servers. These settings will not take effect until May 25, 2018, so you still have time to choose how long (from 14 months and up) Analytics retains data before automatically deleting it.

Is your Business GDPR Complaint?

Bottom line is the sooner you get your business GDPR compliant the better. To get you started, assign someone on your team responsible for reading the provisions of the GDPR to fully understand the requirements and specific circumstances your business might be involved with. Then make sure all your employees are aware of the new laws.

Facebook API changes

Update on the Recent Facebook API changes

Facebook API changes

Social media never stays the way it is for too long. In fact, as soon as we get used to some apps, features and functionalities, API changes once again. For those of you who don’t know, API is an application program interface, which in other words means a set of routines, protocols, and tools for building software applications.

Speaking of changes, just this past February we shared an article on the new Facebook algorithm and what we should expect from those updates. Today, we’d like to discuss yet another announcement made by Facebook on April 4, 2018.

Interested to know what Facebook API changes have been announced recently and how they may affect your social media marketing? Please keep reading!

 Recent Facebook API changes:

  1. Enhanced security and safety measures – At the base of the API changes lies the fact Facebook wants to limit third party applications access to your Facebook and Instagram account. To protect your personal information and content usage, a lot of those apps (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer) need to adjust their functionalities to the new policy.
  2. Third Party Apps cannot use the Instagram API Platform to crawl or store users’ media without their express consent. In other words, Instagram users own their media and that right needs to be respected. So far, a lot of affiliate platform functionalities that used like-based shopping (e.g. LikeToKnow. It) have been greatly affected by this update.
  3. Facebook Login – if you don’t log in to your app in 90 days, the app will be blocked and you won’t be able to access your personal data until you re-authorize it.

For more information on API changes, please check out this article on Facebook for Developers and Facebook Business.

“Innovation demands iteration; it requires constant change. And, while change is never easy, we believe the immediate platform updates we are announcing today will build stronger connections for people, developers and businesses in the future, while maintaining their privacy and security on Facebook.” source
